CHALLENGE YOUR MIND IN THE LIBRARY'S FIRST
BRAIN BOWL
Saturday, April 26 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Pick your brain and those of your friends and family in the Library's first-ever Brain Bowl! Be inspired by the Souls—you’ll be surprised by what you know!
- Put together your team of 4-6 people—all ages are welcome—and challenge your brain with a variety of questions on themes found in "The View From Saturday," including nature, acronyms, literature, geography, the book itself and more.
- All participants will receive goodie bags, and members of the winning team will receive trophies and $10 gift-certificates to the Friends of the Library-sponsored Between Friends Gift Shop.
- Only 12 teams will make the competition so hurry and register by April 19. Download a registration form (pdf) or pick one up at any branch library.
Join the Library this April in celebrating The Big Read 2008, a "one-book, one-community" initiative to promote literacy and public discussion. Everyone in the community—adults, children and teens—is encouraged to realize their own potential and that of others by reading this year's Newbery Medal-winning Big Read selection, "The View from Saturday" by E. L. Konigsburg.
