BABY BAGS: INFO-TO-GO FOR EXPECTANT PARENTS

First-Time Parents Expect a Lot -- And the Library Delivers!

Books on pregnancy and childbirth are in big demand at the Library these days -- so much so that their return rate is substantially lower than other types of books. Library staff joke that the checkout period for these books seems to be nine months instead of three weeks.

But that’s no joke to the pregnant patron who is seeking affordable prenatal information. In response to the growing birth rate and an increasing demand for materials on pregnancy and childbirth, the Library launched Baby Bags: Info-to-Go For Expectant Parents.

The Baby Bag is an attractive, lightweight zipper tote chock-full of the latest information on pregnancy, childbirth and infant care. It contains all the must-reads for busy parents-to-be, including...

  • Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn: The Complete Guide by Penny Simkin, Janet Whalley and Ann Keppler
  • Baby Names Now: From Classic to Cool by Linda Rosenkrantz and Pamela Redmond Satran
  • Baby-Proofing Basics by Vicki Lansky
  • Miracle of Birth (video)
  • Redbook Pregnancy Workout (video)

There’s even a free packet of information inside for you to keep. It’s full of useful information about what the Library has to offer new and expectant parents. The Baby Bag checks out for three weeks, just like most Library books. It can be renewed twice for an additional three-week period online or by calling or stopping by any Library branch. So check out our "newest arrival," Baby Bags, available now at any Springfield-Greene County Library.
