Volunteers are a valuable resource for public service organizations like the Library. The Library uses the services of volunteers, age 14 and up, to supplement the duties and activities of paid staff. Keep up with volunteer activities with the Between Volunteers newsletter.

There are many opportunities for volunteers in the Library:

• assisting in the computer lab
• delivering books to the homebound
• greeting and giving directions to patrons
• mending library materials
• staffing Friends of the Library Gift Shop
• book buddy to the homebound
• shelving
• cleaning toys
• clerical duties
• preparing mailings
• program presenters
• special projects

The Friends of the Library also use the services of its volunteer/members to put on the Book Sales and to provide cookies and assistance for Library functions.

A library volunteer application must be completed by each prospective volunteer. Applications are sent to the human resources manager who will contact the applicant when a volunteer position is available.
