Can I find a grant that will help me pay my mortgage/rent/utilities?
Grants in this area usually fall into programs geared towards low-income individuals or those that require assistance due to a Presidentially-declared major disaster.

- Housing Counseling Assistance Program
To qualify you must be a renter who needs financial assistance with your rental housing costs or a current or prospective homeowner needing financial assistance with mortgage payments. HUD funds housing counseling agencies throughout the country that can give you advice on buying a home, renting, defaults, foreclosures, credit issues and reverse mortgages.

OACAC offers two programs to assist households:
- Energy crisis intervention program to assist low-income households
in crisis in paying heating bills and provides information and education

- Housing assistance program that provides Section 8 rental assistance to low-income families. Funded by HUD.
