Position: Volunteer Mender

| The Mender will be responsible for the
mending and repair of Library materials. |
|
| Responsibilities Include: |
- Inspects library materials and determines the appropriate
method for mending.
- Repairs and mends books, periodicals, journals,
and other library materials using a variety of methods,
including the use of a hot glue gun.
- Mends and repairs library materials.
- Types and labels library materials.
- Packages and laminates library materials.
- Prepares library materials for distribution - stamping,
sorting, and packaging.

| Requirements: |
- Basic typing skills, 35 wpm.
- Ability to complete work tasks quickly with accuracy,
consistency, dependability, and with little supervision.
- Ability to accurately perform detailed tasks.
- Ability to interact pleasantly, constructively and
cooperatively with library patrons and staff.
- Ability to provide service during times of high
public usage.

| Physical Demands: |
- Displays good hand-eye coordination and mobility.
- Routinely performs bending, squatting, kneeling
and reaching from floor level to 6 feet in height.
- Routine lifting of library materials weighing up
to 20 lbs.
- Performs daily tasks requiring mobility, coordination
and stamina.

| Working Environment: |
- Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated
in a general library environment.

| Miscellaneous Requirements: |
- Must be able to pass a security background check,
if applicable.
